Biden Living It Up In Europe

PARIS, France - As the American economy continues to see struggles, many American families are being forced to squeeze every penny, and cut back on non-essential items. Many are living paycheck to paycheck, and many others are out of work and relying on food stamps and unemployment checks.

Thankfully, the American government is continuing to lead as a shining example to their citizens. Documents recently released by the Federal Business Opportunities section that reveals information on federal contracts won by private companies, shows the lodging expenses of two separate one night stays in February by Vice President Joe Biden. The first was a one night stay in London, and the second was a one night stay in Paris.

The FBO contracts released show that for one night in London the cost of lodging billed to the American taxpayers was $459,388.65 and the cost of lodging for one night in Paris was $585,000.50. So, two nights spent staying in European countries who are long time friends and allies of our country cost the American taxpayers $1,044,389.15.

Over a million dollars spent on just two nights is excessive, and shows how disconnected this administration is from its citizens. We have very nice embassies in both of these countries that the Vice President could stay at. If that wasn’t an option, certainly there were cheaper ones.

Considering that in the past few months, this administration has released thousands of illegal immigrant prisoners, stopped all White House tours, and has taken other drastic measures to try and paint the sequester as horrifying, all while our Vice President was spending over a million dollars for two nights in Europe.

The White House is certainly sending mixed signals by claiming they have no money one day while living like kings in Europe the next. It’s shameful, and we should demand they find a way to cut the cost, or that they do not send our Vice President, known more for his gaffes than his diplomacy, to foreign nations.
